Talent Acquisition Team
In 2016, Talent Acquisition was re-structured to include all talent related staffing efforts. Talent Acquisition sits within the HR department, reporting directly to the Chief HR Officer, Debbie Hearty. The actual Talent Acquisition team is broken up into 4 smaller groups in order to prioritize and support the specific needs of our district and schools: Teacher through Leader, School Supports, Central Office & Field, and Strategic Initiatives.
Our team members come to us with a variety of experiences. Some have extensive backgrounds in the DPS network starting off their careers as teachers, screeners and/or HR experts. Others come from outside of education with backgrounds in nonprofit management, military service, hospitality and a variety of other places. We leverage these varied backgrounds to produce effective processes and to collaborate in ways that make our work impactful.
As a Talent Acquisition team, we are continuously evolving our recruitment strategy in order to be one of the most innovative, culturally responsive and strategic-minded districts in the country. Our goals are focused on attracting high quality employees who better represent the students and families we serve, while also providing excellent service to our clients: schools and departments. We’ve designed proactive services that will increase our level of responsiveness and engagement for all open positions and improve our ability to recruit and hire high quality educators across the district.
