As COVID-19 conditions change in Denver, our Discovery Link before- and after-school programming has adjusted to prioritize the health and safety of our students and families. DPS announced a return to remote learning for our students in grades 3-5, which means that regular Discovery Link before- and after-school programming will only be available to DPS students in ECE through second grade. (Families attending a charter school should please check with their school to understand what's available.) We want to make sure we’re providing as much support as we can to our school-based staff, especially those working to provide in-person instruction and support to our youngest learners.
Discovery Link will provide remote-learning support at a limited number of sites available to children of school-based staff who are working in buildings. Remote-learning support will be provided regionally at multiple sites from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. with a capacity of 15 students per site. Cost to staff is $16 per day -- DPS is paying the other half of the total cost. Please note that cost is subject to change after December if remote learning continues.
Registration for remote learning support opens at 6 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 29. To register and see site locations that offer remote learning support, click here.
If we find that we have the staffing and space in buildings to expand to serve students within the DPS community, we will share that update with staff and families. Right now, remote-learning support is only available to children of school-based staff who are working in buildings on a first-come, first-served basis.
